10 facts about Carlo Acutis

The internet has been disturbed by the sight of a body displayed, incorrupt and wearing jeans and sweater. The site of the teenager attracts such awe since we are used to seeing saints dressed in cassocks or religious habits. However, this holy man of our time teaches us that in our time and place we can as well be as great as the saints of old. Not by trying to follow the exact life style they lived, as in their culture and practical living but by allowing the spirit of Christ incarnate in us and make us live out the Gospel in our own particular situations with things around us.

He was born on the 3rd of May, 1991 and died on the 12th of October, 2006. He received his first Communion at the age of seven and was especially devoted to The Eucharist and Mary through the Rosary. He had a passion for computer and spent his last months gathering Eucharistic Miracles in a website he created. He lived only 15 years but his life was shining in love, charity and good example among his peers. He lived a life worthy of a Saint even in our present time

His life is a prove that holiness is very much possible in our time even through the use of internet, as he made use of it to praise the creator. More so, for those who think that no good can come from those who were born during the Era of the Second Vatican council (as some argue), this is a shining example that holiness hasn't left the Church.

His love for the Eucharist and Mary, mingled with his love for the internet and travels teaches us that we do not need to seek extraordinary acts but that in our simple daily life and situations, we can very much love the Creator and serve him with all our hearts.

The video above is all about 10 facts you need to know concerning this little Saint of our time. Pope Francis sets him as an example for youths as they navigate the world of the internet.

  1. I admire the life of this youngest Saint of our time. He inspired me a lot. I have done much research about his short life spent but meaningful. May he continue to pray for us. Amen. Fr. Oliver
